INTRODUCTION
The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is the public transport agency that operates bus, subway, streetcar, and paratransit services in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The current TTC website is a dated design which has not kept up with current trends. As a personal project I decided to take on a high-level redesign of the homepage and some key content pages.
Research
Researching examples of transport websites around the world.
Sketching
Determining key requirements for a public transport homepage, using research and the current TTC website to inform decisions. Simplicity is key, generally most people visit a public transport website for a small number of key tasks; trip planning, service updates, fare information, and to locate maps.
Iterations
Using Figma to move from lo-fi to medium-fi wireframes.
Proposed Design
The proposed design introduces simplicity to the TTC homepage, allowing visitors to access key tasks quickly.
